The Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar can be heard across decades of recordings in the hands of country stars, folk legends, singer-songwriters and solo instrumentalists. This round-shoulder, dreadnought acoustic guitar is known for its full, balanced expression, its warm bass, and its excellent projection - much of which came through subtle changes to the bracing of its forefather, the J-35. The J-45 Custom features all that rich tone, thanks to its AA-grade Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood body. And, for unbelievable onstage tone, there's a premier active pickup system installed on the Gibson J-45 Custom. Those exact quirks are the reason so many have fallen in love with the Gibson J-45.

This 2011 J-45 Custom is a celebration of the original. Combining vintage appointments with several modern features, the J-45 Custom delivers the renowned tone of classic J-45s, while adding refined finishes that complement its fundamental design, including a new floral abalone and mother-of-pearl headstock inlay created by Gibson's master luthiers.
