Martin GT-70 1966 - 6.7 LBS
Martin GT-70 1966 - 6.7 LBS
Only 453 Martin GT-70 specimens were manufactured during the model's short run. Martin got into the electric guitar game in earnest in 1961 and eventually realized it was smarter to focus on its legacy acoustic models in 1968. A few other solid body electric models followed later in the '70s and again in the '00s, but these remain novelties.
The Martin GT-70 featured a semi-hollow Maple body and top with a Mahogany neck and Rosewood fingerboard. Two exposed DeArmond pickups provided the tone, while a Bigsby-type vibrato acted on strings with a 24.9" scale length.
Condition Notes: Good condition for its age!
Neck/Headstock: A few tiny dings in neck. Tiny dings/wear around headstock edges. Finish wear/finish chips along neck at fretboard edges.
Body: Subtle finish checking throughout. Marks on body from floating bridge. Buckle rash. Light scratches and tiny dings throughout.
Yellowing on binding. Oxidation/rust on hardware including knob faces.
