2024 Epiphone IGC 1957 SJ-200 Reissue - 6 LBS

The Gibson SJ-200 was introduced to the world in 1937 and quickly earned the nickname "the King of the Flat-Tops" due to its physical size, high-quality sound, exceptional projection, and undeniable stage presence.

Epiphone, in collaboration with Gibson Custom, introduces the 1957 SJ-200 Reissue, an Inspired by Gibson Custom recreation of the majestic 1957 Super Jumbo model. The Epiphone 1957 SJ-200 Reissue is packed with vintage-inspired details and features all solid wood construction, including a thermally aged solid Sitka spruce top that is reinforced with scalloped X-bracing, solid figured maple back and sides, multi-ply top and back binding, a two-piece flame maple neck with a walnut stringer, comfortable C profile, and a bound Indian rosewood fretboard with mother-of-pearl graduated Crown inlays and 20 standard frets. The neck is attached to the body with a glued-in dovetail joint. The SJ-200 style pickguard has vintage-style graphics, and the rosewood SJ-200 open two-bar Moustache bridge has mother-of-pearl inlays. The nut, compensated saddle, and bridge pins are all made of bone. The bound, Gibson-style "open book" headstock features the Epiphone logo and Gibson Crown inlaid in mother-of-pearl. To make it even more suitable to the needs of modern musicians, it comes with an under-saddle L.R. Baggs™ Element Bronze VTC piezo pickup and active preamp with soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls pre-installed, so it is stage and studio ready.
